As the hosts of the 16th Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival (“Šokių Šventė”), we take great pride in our logo, and we hope you will too. Our logo and our name reflect our vibrant traditions and our goals for hosting an event that will allow people of Lithuanian heritage and friends from around the world to create new memories. We want to encourage conversations about the Šokių Šventė festival, and we want our community to take pride in our event and its logo, but we also want to ensure that our logo and trademarks are used properly.

Any improper or unauthorized use of our logo and trademarks could undermine their ability to help people identify what is officially associated with the 16th Šokių Šventė and what is not. Furthermore, it could undermine our ability to organize and promote the event by confusing consumers or impairing our ability to raise funds. So, we have provided the following information about what a trademark is, and how our logo can be used the right way.

What is a trademark?

A trademark is a word, phrase, symbol, design, or a combination thereof, that serves to identify and distinguish the source of goods or services. The hosts of the 16th Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival (“Šokių Šventė”) use this logo and wording to allow the public to identify our event and understand that they stand for an event that has been beloved for generations. The owner of a trademark has the exclusive right to use the trademark for its goods or services. We have affixed the ™ symbol to our logo because it shows that we are using it as a trademark and that we will make sure it is used properly.

Can I use the names “Šokių Šventė” or “Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival”?

However, if you use our logo or name to promote or advertise yourself or your group or, for example, to sell something, then your actions could cause consumer confusion and weaken our ability to organize and promote the event.

We have developed the following policy for using the Šokių Šventė logo and trademarks under the following conditions:

1. License Grant

The Organizing Committee of the 16th “Šokių Šventė”, sponsored by the Lithuanian-American Community, Inc., hereby grants you (as named above) a non-exclusive, non-assignable, limited license to use its “crown logo”, “Lietuviu Tautiniu Šokių Šventė” wordmark, and “Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival” wordmark separately or as one logo. This license cannot be assigned to anyone else. This license is not an ownership right.

2. No License Fees

You can use the trademark without cost -- the Šokių Šventė Organizing Committee will not charge any fees or royalties for any license.

3. Use Guidelines

You may only use the Šokių Šventė trademarks to promote the Event or your participation in it in a positive manner. Where possible, and in a manner reasonable to the medium and context, you should include the URL or a hyperlink to the Šokių Šventė official website when using the Šokių Šventė trademarks. You can only use the images of the trademarks that have been provided to you, once you fill out this form. They can be resized in reasonable dimensions according to your needs; however, they cannot be altered or modified in form, color, or appearance in any way differently from how they appeared as downloaded. You agree not to use the Šokių Šventė trademarks on any promotional goods, such as apparel or memorabilia for sale.

4. Revocation

The Šokių Šventė Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke any trademark license for any reason or for no specified reason. The Šokių Šventė Organizing Committee is particularly likely to revoke a license if, in its sole discretion, it finds that your use of the trademark is likely to bring disrepute to Šokių Šventė or any of its trademarks, or is likely to confuse the public.
